The official announcement!

This is my first attempt at blogging, but I want to provide a way for all our friends and family to keep up with everything going on with our latest adventure: TWINS!!  Here are some of the recent updates up to this point:

May 19th, 2012: Took a pregnancy test, not at all expecting it to be positive since we had just started trying!! We were excited, but definitely in shock (especially Jason :)!!

If these kids are as dramatic as Jason, we better look out!

 I was around 5 weeks pregnant here.  

The babies were the size of sesame seeds.

June 6th, 2012:  Our first doctor's appointment at 8 weeks (and my Pops's Birthday!).  We were nervous and excited! We were totally shocked when Dr. Wilson told us it was TWINS!  Jason had always joked about us having twins, but we didn't think it would actually happen!  What a DOUBLE blessing!  We got to hear their heartbeats too.  One was around 128 and the other was around 144.  They say girl's heartbeats are faster... hmmmmm (boy and girl???).

This is 8 weeks after we went to the doctor!  Everyone said I was showing early.  

Now we know why- there are TWO in there!!  Babies were the size of kidney beans.

9 weeks- starting to poke out!  Babies were the size of grapes.

10 weeks- Babies were the size of kumquats.

My 30th birthday!
Not quite the bash I had originally anticipated before finding out I was pregnant, BUT it was still a great night with dinner with wonderful friends at North Harbor!  

11 weeks- our 5 years anniversary.
(Apparently I liked my new birthday dress from Jason :)  

Babies were the size of figs.

12 weeks- 4th of July.  For all you Big Bang Theory fans out there, this is my BAZINGA shirt! 

 Definitely starting to look like a baby bump instead of a beer gut (thank goodness!)  

The babies are the size of limes now!

July 5th, 2012- 12 week doctor's appointment.  They have grown a ton and their heart rates are much faster now- both around 175.  We were able to watch them on the screen.  Baby A (on top in the picture) was dancing around like crazy.  He/she will be our wild child we decided.  Baby B must have had a rough night from Baby A's partying so he/she was sleeping and putting his/her back to us.  It was so cool to see legs, feet, and hands!  I love being able to see them to be sure they are growing and healthy!  We are so blessed to have them!  

Our next appointment is August 2nd, where I just will have some blood work.  We will go down to Charlotte for a more detailed ultrasound sometime between 18-20 weeks.  They do this for twins since they are a "high-risk" pregnancy.  We will find out the gender there!  We are hoping to have it put in a sealed envelope and not find out until our gender reveal party!  As soon as we know the date of that appointment, we will be sending out invites for that party.  I will keep you posted on that!  We appreciate the overwhelming love and support  we have already been shown during this pregnancy.  We are so amazingly blessed with wonderful friends and family.  These babies are going to be so loved!  I will try to update regularly and will post a link on Facebook.  Thanks for sharing in our adventure! It's going to be an exciting one!
