Four months?!?!?! Where has the time gone? Being at home all day, I always have the TV on in the background so I feel somewhat connected to the outside world. During this time I have heard a million advertisements and thought about how some of those catchy slogans get "in your head!" For this month's blog entry, I've decided to give you a slogan and then tell how it relates to my crazy life these days!
"Good to the Last Drop" (Maxwell House) & “Got Milk?” (California Milk)
This picture is for my kitty loving friends :)
It seems like all I do is feed babies, wash and sterilize bottles, mix formula, and make new bottles! We are pretty diligent that the boys take the majority of their bottles (to the last drop- ha!), even though the doctor said it's okay if they don't take all of it. I know how much they should be able to take and if they don't take almost all of it, they're screaming to eat again in about two hours. I have a pretty strict three to three and a half hour schedule with them (for my sanity). I am still feeding them on a staggered schedule. I've tried feeding them at the same time again, but haven't had success, so I'm just sticking to what works for now. They have gotten a million times better at taking their bottles! Gone are the days of hour long feedings and now we are usually about 15- 20 minutes each- whew! Much better! I'm definitely looking forward to the days where they can hold their own bottles! Not sure what I'll do with all my spare time then. Perhaps I'll write the next great American novel!
Yeah, we rock at taking bottles now!
“Gimme a Break, Gimme a Break" (Kit Kat)
I LOVE being a mommy. That being said, it is always wonderful to have a break from my little men. They consume my life right now and it is nice to still maintain an identity of my own. We are fortunate to have our families close by. They are more than willing to watch the boys, which allows us to have some time on our own. I think it's important to give yourself a break from mommyhood occasionally, even though you constantly think about the kids the entire time you're away from them!
I've also made the decision to return to work on April 8th. This is going to be hard, but makes sense financially. I did not intend on leaving school in October, so my days have run out and I'm not getting paid anymore. I want to be able to enjoy summer and not count every penny I spend, so going to work for two and a half months will allow us more financial freedom. I will still get my summer with them, which I'm looking forward to since they are getting really fun! My fabulous mother-in-law will be watching the boys during the day. We are very blessed to have her!
“Don’t Leave Home Without It” (American Express)
Being a mother requires you to not only get yourself ready, but also children ready and out the door. Babies have a lot of paraphernalia that you must bring along- bottles, diapers, wipes, change of clothes, and the list goes on! Being an organized person has definitely helped me in this aspect of mommyhood! So far I haven't left anything too important at home yet, but I'm sure it will happen. Just as long as I don't leave a kid in the driveway or anything!
“Nothing Outlasts the Energizer. It Keeps Going, and Going…” (Energizer Batteries) and "Have it your way" (Burger King)
These two slogans perfectly describe our little Will-I-Am! He is a firecracker and is pretty determined to get his way!! We're in for a ride with this little man! :) He's already "talking" up a storm and scooting when on his belly. Not bad for a two pounder!
“This is your brain on drugs” (PSA) "Sometimes you feel like a nut, sometimes you don't" (Almond Joy, Mounds)
Okay, so I'm not on drugs, but sometimes I feel like it. I used to be pretty "with it" when it comes to things, but now I forget whether I've brushed my teeth or not some days! I definitely have those days where I feel like I can't do anything right, and days where I feel like I have it all together.
"It takes a licking and keeps on ticking" Timex
People always told me babies were resilient. This is definitely true. Babies are not as Fra-gil-e (A Christmas Story) as we originally thought. Now we are still super careful with them, but we are learning that they're pretty sturdy creatures!
“They’re G-r-r-r-eat!” Frosted Flakes
We went for the boys Four Month appointment on Thursday and the doctor is thrilled with their progress! They are meeting all their milestones for their adjusted 2 month age, most of their 4 month milestones, and a couple 6 month milestones! They have both QUADRUPLED their weight! Will has gone from 2 lbs, 7 ozs at birth to 10 lbs, 7 ozs! Jack went from 3 lbs, 3 ozs at birth to 11 lbs, 12 ozs! They still have a size discrepancy, but little man is quickly catching up to his brother. He eats the same amount, if not more than Jack. He is always on the move though, so he burns more calories. The boys are starting to look more and more alike. Going to have to break out some magic markers soon.
What a good daddy! We were super excited because Jack had learned to push up on his arms.
Snuggle time!
Both boys have now rolled over and are doing it regularly. They are only going from belly to back, but I don't think it will be too long until they are going from back to belly. They are starting to "talk" to us a lot. They love to lay on their play mat and "fight" and "yell" at their animals hanging down. It's quite entertaining. They have also started to really "ham" it up! They smile and do a Sheldon Cooper (he he) laugh.
(Of course he rolled over the moment I left for Charleston!)
They are also sleeping like champs now! We usually have to get up only one time with them in the night, which is a dream compared to the several times we used to do! Last night Will slept from 9pm-6am and Jack from 10pm-7am! I can't even describe the fabulousness of this! Although we did panic a little when we realized we hadn't been up! Hopefully this trend will continue!
"I'm lovin' it" (McDonald's)
I always knew I wanted to be a mom, but I really do love my new life. There are definitely challenges, but I would never take any of it back. I can't imagine a life without our little men. We are so blessed!
Love weekend mornings snuggling with all my men. The boys love to lay in our bed and kick and chatter! Definitely my favorite time of the day!

Playing Scrabble with the boys! Starting them young!
The Charlotte 49ers will be playing their Inaugural football season this fall. We have been super excited since this was announced years ago and quickly purchased seat licenses for the stadium. We just recently bought two more seats, since we have our two little fellas to breed as Niners early! The other day we spent the day with Erik (Jason's best buddy), who will also be sitting with us, and did some scoping for our new seats! We don't actually get to pick ours until April 11th, but I don't think there is going to be a bad seat in the house! We also got to check out practice, which was awesome!! I can't imagine how amazing the school will be when it's time for the boys to go to college!
Lunch date with some of my favorite men! Erik and I have been buddies since middle school. He and Jason became good friends in college and Erik actually introduced the two of us when we camped out for basketball tickets! The rest is history, but needless to say, Erik is a very important person in our lives!

Can't even begin to imagine all the fun times we are going to have in this stadium! Spring game- April 20th!!

The boys were ready to watch the Niners play basketball. Too bad they didn't do so hot!
"Just Do It" (Nike)
Last week my wonderful friend, Ashley, asked me to give a talk at her workplace, the Hilton, to help kick off their March of Dimes campaign. I excitedly agreed and had a wonderful time sharing the story of our little miracles. Without the research and technology of the March of Dimes, our little men may not be here or not doing as well as they are. We have set a goal to raise $500 by the walk in uptown on April 27th. You can go to this link http://www.marchforbabies.org/personal_page.asp?pp=4841343&ct=4&w=6142375&u=andradesquared2# if you feel inclined to donate any money. We would also love to have as many people as possible join us in walking! I'm not good at asking people for money, but this is definitely a cause near and dear to our hearts!
The boys looked studly for their appearance at The Hilton. Poor Will's jeans were riding a little high- lol- channeling Steve Urkel!
This month's "Tie Wednesdays"

Happy Easter, y'all!!
