Christmas

I'm enjoying being on Christmas break and spending all this quality time with my men!  My mom and I took the boys to the mall the other day.  We rented a Firetruck and the boys loved it! Definitely the best $8 spent all day! They were much happier in it than in their stroller!

We had our first "real" Christmas with the boys!  Last year we brought Jackson home on Christmas Eve and Will didn't come home until five days later.  We had to go visit Will in the hospital on Christmas last year, which was sad :(  This Christmas Eve I got the boys dressed in their new pj's from Nana and Papa.  They looked quite cute!

Christmas 2012

Christmas 2013- Big difference a year makes!!

When Will woke up on Christmas morning I picked him up and he was burning up! We took his temperature and it was right around 103! Scary stuff! So we gave him medicine and called they doc.  He maintained a temp all day, but it would go back down with medicine.  Luckily, he's all better now.  Not quite sure what caused it, but glad it was short lived!

Poor buddy was pitiful until his fever came down :(

Jack played while William slept a little more.

Christmas fell on a Wednesday this year, so the boys wore their fancy tie sweaters.

Silly William

Tried to get them to sit in the chair together... did not happen!

They never cooperate for pictures! :)

Checking out gifts from Santa.

A new Batman car! Jackson was pushing William- so cute!

They boys got new "big boy" car seats! This was quite an investment since we had to buy so many because these stay in the car.  They will have a total of eight with all the grandparents.  At least these last them a long time!  They do seem happier in them! Much more room than their tiny infant seats!

Jackson

William

William got his first black eye Thursday.  I'm not 100% sure what transpired, but we had a little blood and a lot of crying. His new nickname is "Crash!"

Ouch!

Will's Popeye shirt and his crazy hair.  No idea what to do with these kids' hair!!

The boys' new chair from Santa arrived a little late.  They love it :) Hopefully this will prevent some fights!

We had a wonderful Christmas and are so grateful all our many blessings! Merry Christmas y'all!!

One year... on November 27th...worst mom ever!

So we've been crazy busy! The boys turned one on November 27th! We were at the beach for Thanksgiving.  It was tons of fun with the family at Topsail.  Then we got back and had the boys party on December 7th and then it's just been, well...December... with middle school students... and two baby boys.  It's been lots of fun, but incredibly busy, which is why I am a bad mommy and haven't posted the boys' one year blog.

So, the boys turned one! Couldn't believe it when we took their 12 month picture.  It seems like yesterday that I was taking their 1 month picture. Will was SOOOOO tiny and well, Jack was too, but in comparison, he looked huge.  So proud that our Will has caught up within 10 oz of his "big brother!" I definitely was a little sad to pull off that last sticker, but so happy they have done amazingly well in the last year!!!

Wow!  Didn't realize the size discrepancy at the time!

Big boys!!!

Will always smiles with his WHOLE face! He's starting to finally "fill out!"

So we went to the beach for Thanksgiving.  We go every other year with my mom and dad.  Could have never guessed last time we were there we would have twins the next time! Wow!

What??? We'll have twins next time we're here.... hahahaha... you're hilarious!! -Izzy

The big day! Oh, how different things were a year ago!

We sang to Jack at 7:35 am! Of course he was up!! The days of sleeping in are definitely OVER!  It's okay! The boys are the most pleasant when they first wake up and I don't usually have the time to enjoy it during the week!

The beach house had a great chalk board to use for the boys' birthday!
Happy birthday Will at 7:37 am! Two minutes different... wow!! So crazy to think about that scary C-section.  It's amazing what we do when we have no choice!

My whole world!  Can't imagine life without them!

Beautiful morning!

Family picture- Will was happy, Jack was... hungry! :)

Not posed... just life.  So glad I have a hubby that loves to be involved! Not sure how I would do it otherwise!

Love this picture of my little men. :)

Looking for lady friends!

A rare picture of me with the boys! I'm usually taking all the pictures.

Two of my favorite men!

So we tried the whole smash cake thing... they weren't thrilled.  Pretty sure they both shot daggers at us!

WHY???

Hmmmm... not real happy with us!

All this is just making my head hurt...

Cold day at the beach.  So glad we don't have to bundle up all the time. The boys did not like it!

Beach time. Boys weren't really happy!

Will at the park on Topsail.

Having fun playing in a tub!  Nana was dragging them around.  They LOVED it!

The boys had their first birthday party at Nana and Papa's on the 7th of December.  They had lots of people come out and received a ton of gifts (they're a little spoiled!).  I did "A Hungry Caterpillar" theme, which I knew would be my child's first birthday party way before I even had kids.  It was awesome even though I was sick and could barely talk! I ended up at the doctor's office Monday and found out I had a sinus infection and a really nasty cough.  Luckily I got some great medicine and rest and finally returned to my normal self by the next week.  It wasn't fun to be sick at their party though, but I guess I might have worked myself a little down :)  Thank you so much to everyone for making a special effort to come out for their big day!

Playing before the party.

Friends since 1st grade.  Shelley and Alma.  Kristen and Emily (still inside :)

Cupcakes made by my mother in law!  So cute!! :)

Caterpillar with all the month pictures (except 12- never got that printed off! :)

Hmmm.. what's this?  This went a little better than at the beach!

Getting sleepy and a little overwhelmed!

After nap time at the party relaxing with Papa Stott!  He loves these boys so much.  It just warms my heart to see him interact with them.  We are so blessed to have such awesome parents that love our boys so much!

With my daddy.

Whew... we needed a bottle after all that work!

Playing with their Noah's Ark HANDMADE by my grandfather! They each got their own.  What a precious gift!

At night after their party...

I. am. so. tired.

We also had the boys dedicated to the church on the 8th.  We knew it was important to have a lot of family there to be a part of this special day!  The pastors carried the boys around the church and they loved it.  It was such a sweet moment.  We are blessed to be part of a wonderful church.

Jackson with Pops at breakfast after church.

Tired baby!

So... I got photobombed by the metal Christmas trees on my mantel. They made me look like a devil... lol.  Too funny!  This is four generations by the way!  So happy my grandparents and aunt were able to come over from Alabama for the party and dedication.  Jason's dad and stepmom also made the trip from Atlanta.  It was a great time!

We had our first visit with Santa the other day at church.  It was GREAT because there was NO LINE! The boys weren't sure what to think, but they didn't cry, which I was happy about!

Whole family with Santa

Tie Wednesdays:  I was late several times this month! Again.... super busy!

They love cheese sticks these days!

Will and Jack have started to eat lots of new foods (REAL food!) and now are on some whole milk.  Our pediatrician wants them to be on formula until their "true" one year birthday, so we are just starting the whole milk.  I am SO excited not to mix formula anymore though, or most of all BUY it! We are definitely going to be getting a raise in that area.  It will be nice once they are on all "real" food too! It's hilarious to watch them try new foods.  Jack likes to shovel food in, and Will is more reserved with his eating.  They make a mess, which Izzy loves!!

The boys finally can hold their big bottles effectively.  It's awesome to give them a bottle and be able to do things while they eat instead of having to hold it for them.  Ahhh... life is getting easier!  We are also working on sippy cups.  It will be nice to say farewell to the bottle also!

Playing on new cars from Nana and Papa.

Playing with Solo cups.  They have TONS of toys, but loved these!

The boys have a little armchair that I picked up at Goodwill before they were even born.  They LOVE it and fight over it.  I heard Santa may be bringing another!

Jackson in the chair. He has a bump on his head from where he attempted a front flip into it a few minutes before and landed on the ground.  He wasn't too phased, as you can tell here!

May the stronger twin win!!!

Will was so happy to be relaxing in the chair too!!

My school teammate, Kim, gave me her boys' old train table.  The boys love playing with it, especially getting off and on it.  They are pretty good at it these days.

Jackson fell asleep on it. Sweet boy!

Gates are quite necessary at our house! We don't currently have one on the bottom of the stairs, but one will be getting installed ASAP.  Jason found the boys at the TOP of the stairs giggling the other day!

What I see when I'm getting something out of the pantry!

We feel so blessed that the boys have done so well over the last year.  They haven't starting walking yet, but they are getting close! Eeek!  So fun! :)  I'm very excited to spend the next couple weeks with the boys without having to go to school. It's going to be awesome!  Christmas pictures coming soon!!
