The boys have been moving like crazy the last few weeks. The movements have changed from "flutters" or "tickles" to full on jabs. Jason was finally able to feel them, which was a really cool moment! I know it has to be difficult for him to know that they are growing, but not getting to feel them constantly like I do. He's an amazing hubby and support system for me. He also has taken on the unsolicited role of my dietician. He also does an insane amount of research online on what I should be doing. Although it does drive me slightly nuts, I know it's because he cares. He's going to be the most amazing dad. However, I have officially decided he will not be driving me to the hospital because he will totally be freaking out!
I've already had to break out the middle name for Will- "William Daniel, get out of my rib!" He lives in my rib and IT HURTS! I've tried pushing him down and asking him very nicely to kindly move out of his happy place, but it hasn't worked. It's obviously where he wants to live, and I guess I'll just deal. I'm just hoping that my ribs don't crack in half before this kid gets out. So, if I have a little beef with Will once he gets out, no one should be surprised!
The nursery is finished! Yay! My fabulous mother-in-law made amazing curtains, a bench cushion, and bed skirts for their room and it looks awesome!! Now these boys just need to grow and get here!
We have two baby showers coming up in a couple weeks. I am having my school shower the 10th and then our friends are having one for us the 13th. We have been super busy lately, which is helpful in making time go by fast. I've had to start limiting my activities somewhat though. I've been a "trooper" for a long time now and have gone and done whatever hubby and the friends wanted, but I am starting to have to do a little less so I don't get myself put on bedrest. Last week I attempted to attend the Lake Norman Beer Festival with everyone, but only made it for about an hour. As you can imagine, a ton of people sampling beers is not the most fun when you're pregnant and really like beer. Think recovering food addict at a large buffet. Actually I was fine with not drinking, but it was SUPER crowded and toasty and I could feel my feet swelling "exponentially." So, I went home and parked my happy (big) butt on the couch and napped while watching football. It was fabulous until I was awoken by a loud group of boisterous friends wanting food. Then I got to work my new gig as a taxi driver and drive all of them home. I'm kidding, it's all good, but I am definitely ready for a beer (or five). I also had a gross cold this week which was not fun. I already have issues sleeping with this large belly combined with having to pee every five minutes. Seriously, every. five. minutes. My cold eventually left and now I can at least breathe through my nose which has helped. I believe I'm leaving this "honeymoon" phase of pregnancy and getting into the "please get out of me soon phase." I took it super easy this weekend and it's been fabulous. I don't want to become the pregnant hermit, but I do need to take care of myself so I can carry these kids as long as possible.
Speaking of animals, I'm super nervous about breastfeeding TWO children. I've already started mooing regularly in preparation. I have tried reading online and in a twin book about how this is going to go down, but I get totally overwhelmed and just stop. I did join the Charlotte Moms of Multiples group and they have an upcoming class on breastfeeding multiples, so I may try that approach. The email said husbands are welcome, so I'm thinking I'm going to dress Jason in a nursing bra and drag him along. I want him to get the full experience and put that visual in your mind.
Oh, on the dressing up note, I've been searching for Halloween costume ideas online and have found A LOT of creepy things for pregnant women. No, I don't want to have a bloody baby zombie reaching out of my stomach or be a giant oven with a bun in it. Alas, I found a great idea though- Jason is going to dress as a Milk Man and I am going to be a Desperate Housewife. :) Should be cute and I'll most likely be ginormous and probably won't last with whatever we end up doing very long. I love Halloween though and must take advantage of dressing up while beefy.
Okay, enough blabbing... perhaps I have been too much of a hermit this weekend. Picture time:
22 Weeks
23 Weeks (Sorry it's blurry- Jason took it after the Beer Fest :)
24 Weeks- (Yes, my sign is upside down. No, my husband did not inform me. These poor children.)
The bed skirts didn't show up that great in my picture, but they are blue and white seersucker. The bench cushion is also on the window seat now!
I am a horrible photographer so I couldn't get this to show up well, but I tried. This is the valance though! It's super cute and reversible to the seersucker.
Whaley Cute shower curtain for the boys' bathroom. Pun intended.
:)
Well, I'll be in my Third Trimester the next time I post, whoop whoop! At times it feels like this pregnancy has crept by and other times it feels like its flown. Either way, thanks again for all the support and prayers in this adventure. We can't wait to meet our boys and share them with everyone! Love y'all!
